THE "TAVANTOLGOI COAL LOADING LOGISTICS CENTER" PROJECT WILL BE PUT INTO OPERATION THIS YEAR

The "Tavantolgoi Coal Loading Logistics Center" project, implemented by "Tavantolgoi Railway" LLC, is considered one of the largest engineering projects in Mongolia, designed to receive, crush, transport, sort, and continuously load coal from the mine into rail transport. As of March 27, 2023, the project is progressing with 65.72% completion and will be commissioned in December of this year.

Once operational, this facility will allow coal mined from the Tavantolgoi group of deposits to be transported and sold internationally via the Tavantolgoi-Gashuunsukhait and Tavantolgoi-Zuunbayan railways.

  • - Reduce coal transportation costs,
  • - Dramatically increase mining capacity,
  • - Environmentally friendly,

  • - High importance of continuous operation

The complete project consists of ancillary buildings with crushers, conveyors, stacker feeders and wagon loading equipment, and has the capacity to crush, sort, mix and transfer 20 million tons of coal per year and 3,500 tons per hour.

The raw coal extracted from the West and East Tsankhi Mines of JSC "Erdenes Tavantolgoi" will be loaded into railway wagons on the Tavantolgoi-Gashuunsukhait and Tavantolgoi-Zuunbayan lines, and the coal concentration plant will be implemented in accordance with the medium-term business plan of JSC "Erdenes Tavantolgoi" for 2021-2025. In addition, the coal concentrator located 12.5 km from the mine, which will be commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2023, will be continuously supplied with feed and the feed quality of the coal concentrator will be averaged.
