Our story

  Tavantolgoi Railway LLC was established on August 8, 2018, to expand the Mongolian economy, create new turnover, and operate in railway infrastructure construction, operation, transportation, and rolling stock maintenance. 

  According to Resolution No. 304 of July 2019 of the Government of Mongolia, 66 percent of the company's shares are owned by "Erdenes Tavantolgoi" JSC and 34 percent by "Mongolian Railways" JSC. The stable development of the company's main assets and operations is guaranteed by the fact that the shareholder rights are exercised by Mongolian Railways.

  Since March 2020, our company has successfully implemented the 233.6 km Tavantolgoi-Gashuunsukhait railway complex project, the first class I in Mongolia, with UIC 60 tracks, without junctions, heavy-duty, and capable of transporting 30-50 million tons of coal per year. We have started the transportation activities on the 9th of September, contributing to the increase of the country's exports and the flow of foreign currency.

  We manage and organize the implementation of major projects such as "Gashuunsukhait transshipment terminal", "Tavantolgoi coal terminal stock project", "22 km railway connecting Tavantolgoi-Gashuunsukhait and Tavantolgoi-Zuunbayan railways", "Gashuunsukhait-Gantsmod railway" , we are pleased to announce that it is working successfully.

  In order to strengthen the company's governance in a short period of time, and to make our operations conform to world standards, we implemented ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 45001 Environmental Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, ISO 27001 Information Security Management System, and ISO 215001 Project Management Methodology standards. simultaneous introduction into operation was organized and successfully completed in October 2022. It became the first organization in Mongolia to implement 5 international standards simultaneously and received its international standard certificates.

   Based on Mongolia's long-term development policy "Vision 2050", the Government's "New Revival Policy", "A6-20" Business Plan for 2021-2025 of "Erdenes Tavantolgoi" JSC, as well as international standards and theoretical methods, the company's "Develops long-term policy documents such as Strategic Plan-2050, "Railway Transport Development Program-2050", "Human Resources Strategy-2030" and provides "Complex Railway Operation and Transportation Services" from "Project Management Activities" to become a company, setting goals for expansion and planning its activities.
